Healing the Body and Mind
Muscle Mend Massage Therapy was founded by Alicia G. Walton, LMT, who brings over 18 years of experience in the field of massage therapy. Alicia's passion for healing and helping others stems from her own experiences as a competitive athlete during her youth. Representing Camas, Washington in soccer, track, cross country, and wrestling, she encountered numerous sports-related injuries, which led her to appreciate the power of therapeutic massage. Inspired by the high school athletic trainer who treated her injuries with compassion and skill, Alicia knew she wanted to pursue a career dedicated to helping others find relief from pain and discomfort.
After graduating from Ashmead College in 2006 with a certification in Sports/Clinical Massage, Alicia dedicated herself to honing her skills and expanding her knowledge. For eight years, she worked at a chiropractic office in Southwest Washington, gaining invaluable experience in delivering therapeutic massage and developing individualized treatment plans. During this time, she also volunteered her time offering Sports Massage to runners preparing for the Portland Marathon, further solidifying her commitment to helping athletes achieve their peak performance.
Driven by her desire to create a space where individuals could experience the transformative benefits of massage therapy, Alicia opened Muscle Mend Massage Therapy in 2014. Her practice focuses on Sports/Clinical Massage, a style that addresses sports-related injuries and chronic or acute pain. This approach often incorporates Deep Tissue techniques, which Alicia believes are misunderstood. She emphasizes that Deep Tissue massage should be deeply relaxing, not painfully uncomfortable.
Alicia's commitment to providing the best possible care for her clients is evident in her ongoing pursuit of advanced training and certifications. In 2020, she earned her Certificate in DeepFeet Bar Therapy, also known as Ashiatsu, a technique that elevates Deep Tissue massage to a new level. Alicia is also pursuing a certification in Eastern style Ashiatsu, which offers a distinct and powerful approach to bodywork.

Therapeutic massage may incorporate additional modalities such as Ashiatsu, Cupping, Deep Heat, Deep Blue, Empower CBD lotion, or doTerra Breathe Essential Oil.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage is a specialized service tailored to the unique needs of expecting and postpartum mothers. Utilizing side-lying positions to ensure comfort and protect the abdomen, Alicia creates a nurturing and supportive environment for mothers to relax and address the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy and recovery.
Eastern Ashiatsu
Drawing on ancient wisdom and Eastern healing practices, Eastern Ashiatsu focuses on releasing postural and emotional holding patterns. This technique involves the use of feet to apply pressure to deep layers of muscle and fascia, promoting alignment and balance in the neck, head, spine, and lower limbs. Eastern Ashiatsu aims to invigorate "Jing" (kidney essence), stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems, and enhance the flow of Qi and blood, leading to a state of revitalization and well-being.
