Our Service Area

We are a fourth-generation, family-owned, full-service electrical contractor located in Clifton, NJ. Our service area includes Northern and Central New Jersey, as well as Rockland and Westchester Counties in New York. We have the ability to successfully handle the demands of all jobs, large and small, with our experienced staff and close relationships with our suppliers.

Our Staff

Our staff includes Professional Engineers, Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, Purchasers, and Accounting and Administrative Personnel. Many of our team members have been with us for up to 40 years, and they offer design/build and value engineering ideas to provide installations on time and within budget. Our staff's knowledge of the electrical industry is unmatched, and we are committed to providing the highest level of service to our customers.

Our History

Modern Electric Co. was founded by Joseph Golub in West New York, NJ, in 1929. In 1936, we began working for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. In 1945, we became an IBEW Union Contractor. Murray Golub became President in 1972, and in 1986, we became the resident Electrical Contractor for Hoffman-La Roche in Nutley, NJ. Alan M. Golub became President in 1997, and we have continued to build our reputation for exceptional electrical work and unparalleled service ever since.
