Our Story

Covered Treasures Bookstore has been proudly serving the Tri-Lakes community since 1993. Founded by Tommie Plank and Leona Lacroix, the store started in a small room in the historic Chapala Building and has since grown to three rooms, offering a vast selection of new and gently used books. Over the years, the store has expanded its offerings to include unique sidelines such as locally-made greeting cards. We are deeply rooted in the community, supporting local charities, school districts, and hosting events for local authors to sign their titles. We also actively participate in the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce.

Meet Our Team

Tommie Plank, the founder, continues to own and operate the store, ensuring that every customer receives a personalized experience. Paula Primavera, our manager, is a book and people lover who also enjoys hiking. Matt Shoales volunteers his time to help with events and book sales. Jeanette Lamb and Claire Deeds are our book sellers, each with their own unique interests and passions. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best service and recommending books that match your interests.
