King Lighting-Dayton

Welcome to King Lighting, Inc., a lighting and controls agency serving the Cincinnati and Dayton regions since 1927. Our team is a full-service provider supporting the design and contractor communities with a range of services including lighting and controls design, photometric calculations, design build assistance, project budgeting and quotations, project management, controls start-up and service, and quick ship product search. We are proud to have served the industry for nearly a century, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of lighting technology and controls.

Our History

King Lighting was founded by Harry King on New Year's Day 1927 as a lighting manufacturer's representative covering the Cincinnati and Dayton Markets. The company continued to prosper through three generations of the King family, including his sons Bud and Dave. In 1992, Dave King retired, and ownership transitioned to Mike O'Ryan and Gary Harmeling. In 2005, Greg Jones joined Mike and Gary as the third owner. The company has since navigated challenging business conditions under the leadership of Mike, Gary, and Greg, with the addition of Tony Rowland in 2020 and Justin Lynch and Aaron Prine in 2022. Our leadership has remained strong over the years, but it's our team of dedicated professionals who have been instrumental in our success.
