The Front Porch is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people through music. We're more than just a music school - we're a community that believes in the power of music to bring people together and enrich their lives. Our focus on music education extends outside of the walls of our Charlottesville location and into the heart of the city through our Roots & Wings outreach program.

Our Services
We offer a wide range of services to help you connect with music and with others. Our music school offers private and group lessons for adults and kids, as well as camps and workshops to help you improve your skills and explore new styles. Our concert venue hosts intimate performances by local and national artists, and our outreach program brings music to underserved communities throughout Charlottesville. We also offer instrument rentals and sales, so you can find the perfect instrument to suit your needs.

Our Story
The Front Porch was founded in 2015 by local educator Emily Morrison, who had a vision of creating a community music space that would bring people together through music. Since then, we've grown into a thriving nonprofit organization with a dedicated team of teachers, staff, and volunteers who are passionate about music and about making a difference in our community.
