Uncommon Coffee Roasters

Uncommon Coffee Roasters is a small batch specialty coffee roaster located in Saugatuck, Michigan. Founded in 1994 by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye, the company started as a cafe named Uncommon Grounds. The cafe quickly became a hub for their new wholesale roasting business, supplying coffee to local restaurants and bed & breakfasts.

Over the years, the business grew and expanded. In 2000, Guy and Stephen began roasting their own coffee out of the cafe on Hoffman Street, filling the town with the wonderful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. The roasting operation continued to thrive, and by 2010, it had outgrown its initial location. The roasting facility was moved to its current location in Douglas, Michigan, allowing for further growth and expansion.

Today, Uncommon Coffee Roasters offers a wide range of services including ethically sourced coffee, wholesale partnerships, coffee equipment, equipment repair, cafe design and consultation, and barista training. Our year-round coffee selection includes popular choices like Zalmari Estate, Villa Sarchi, and Pride Blend, among others. We also offer seasonal and limited-time blends to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
