Beech Hill Farm

Beech Hill Farm Equestrian Center is a renowned horse riding facility located in Pleasantville, Westchester County, NY. Since its establishment in 1960, we have been dedicated to providing a safe, professional, and enjoyable horse riding experience for both kids and adults. Our farm adjoins the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, which offers over 150 miles of beautifully manicured carriage trails for riding and driving on the Rockefeller Estate.

At Beech Hill Farm, we offer a variety of services designed to cater to all your horse riding needs. Our unique share boarding and leasing programs allow you to share board on a horse for a set number of days per week or opt for a half or full lease. Additionally, we provide lessons in the ring or on the trails, ensuring that our clients can choose the learning environment that best suits their preferences.

Our Services

Our lesson program is diverse and led by experienced instructors who can work with riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced riders. We have well-trained school horses and ponies that can accommodate most levels and disciplines of riding, including western, hunt seat, dressage, and trail riding. Our lessons are available in private, semi-private, and group settings, ensuring that each rider receives the attention they need to improve their skills.

For horse owners, we offer full board services where everything will be supplied, including stall cleaning, feeding, watering, and basic feeds. Horses will be turned out for exercise daily and blanketed according to the weather. We also arrange for veterinarians and farriers as needed by the horse owner or manager.

History

Beech Hill Farm was founded by Agnes and John Schrader Sr. in 1960. Their vision was to create a horse facility where kids and adults could learn, enjoy, and have a safe and professional experience. Agnes and John Sr. ran the farm until 1991, when they retired and moved to Arizona. John Sr. was a well-respected professional in the horse community, known for his accomplishments and likable personality.

In 1991, Marlene Von Hagen and John Schrader Jr. took over Beech Hill Farm and continued to run it with the same traditions and values established by Agnes and John Sr. Today, we remain committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and professional horse riding experience for all our clients.
