Green River Woods is a small, yet dynamic woodworking studio and urban lumber operation located in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina. Founded in 2008 by Matt Christie, the company has been dedicated to creating sustainable, custom furniture pieces that showcase the natural beauty of locally salvaged trees. Matt, a second-generation woodworker, grew up surrounded by woodworking and green spaces, fostering a deep appreciation for the environment and craftsmanship that is evident in every piece created by GRW.

We source our materials exclusively from locally salvaged trees, preventing unnecessary waste and promoting the reuse of precious natural resources. 1. Urban Lumber Milling: We mill our own lumber from locally salvaged trees, ensuring the highest quality and responsible sourcing.

2. Slab and Kiln-Dried Lumber Supply: We supply live edge slabs and kiln-dried lumber to fellow woodworkers and the general public, promoting the use of reclaimed wood in various projects.

3. Wood Finish Line: We produce our own small-batch wood finish line, which includes Bee Good Wood Oil and Bee Good Wood Butter. These premium, food-safe finishes provide excellent protection and enhance the natural beauty of the wood.

4. Custom Furniture Design and Build: Our team of skilled craftsmen work closely with clients to design and build custom furniture pieces that suit their unique needs and preferences.
