Hammond Ballet

The Hammond Ballet Company, a nonprofit corporation, directed by Janet Neyrey & Grace Jeanfreau, is committed to providing performance opportunities and training to assist young dancers to realize their individual potential in the art of classical ballet. We strive to present the art of dance to young audiences as a part of student education and enhance our community through the promotion of dance as an art form. Our company is composed of dancers ranging from ages 8 to 24, selected annually through auditions from area dance studios and area colleges. Junior and Senior Company Members have the opportunity to participate in our Nutcracker and other annual performances as well as our Summer Intensive. We also offer the Hammond Ballet Youth Ensemble, an intense program for serious dancers, which includes a rigorous schedule of ballet classes and coaching sessions to study and compete classical variations from famous ballets. Our dancers have had the opportunity to study and perform with many guest teachers and choreographers, participating in competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition, the American Dance International Ballet Competition, and the Universal Ballet Competition.

Variation Workshop

The Variation Workshop is designed for dancers aged 7 to 11 and 12 and up. It focuses on learning classical ballet variations from famous ballets such as "Swan Lake, " "Sleeping Beauty, " and "The Nutcracker." The workshop is held at A Touch of Class Performing Arts and includes two sessions, one for younger dancers and another for older dancers. Dancers interested in auditioning for the Youth Ensemble should attend the workshop.

Youth Ensemble

Congratulations to all of our 2022-2023 Youth Ensemble members. This program is an intense training program for serious dancers, focusing on classical ballet variations and competitions. Auditions for the Youth Ensemble are held annually, with dancers selected through a rigorous audition process.

Nutcracker Production

The Nutcracker Production is a highlight of our year, with auditions held annually. The production includes performances by our Junior and Senior Company Members, as well as special guest performers. Stay tuned for more details on performance dates and cast information.

Nutcracker Tea

Clara & The Nutcracker Prince cordially invite you to Hammond Ballet Company's The Nutcracker Tea, an afternoon of Nutcracker Magic with special performances, fine food, and shopping at Clara's Corner.
