Use the power of your mind for the life you want

Are you seeking to gain more control over fears, pain, stress, and anxiety in your life? Or perhaps you wish to develop desirable habits, let go of the past, or improve your performance in various areas such as sports, music, test-taking, public speaking, and social interactions. If so, you'll be glad to know that the potential for all these and more is already in your mind! Hypnosis and related techniques are a way to connect with these abilities to help you live the life you want.

At Flagstaff Hypnotherapy, our certified clinical hypnotherapist, Don Berlyn, PT, has years of experience working with the body and mind. Don graduated from the NAU Physical Therapy program in 1986 and became a Clinical Hypnotherapist in 2007. He originally became a Hypnotherapist to work with pain and medical issues as part of his Physical Therapy practice but soon got requests to help with other concerns. Realizing the need for his services, he expanded his Hypnotherapy practice while continuing as a Physical Therapist.

Don offers consultations in person, online, or over the phone, all of which are free of charge. He works with clients to help them achieve their goals, such as improving performance, letting go of the past, developing desirable habits, and improving overall well-being.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is an ancient therapy that has been used in nearly every culture and every form of healing for thousands of years. Hypnotherapy uses the special qualities of the hypnotized mind to explore and change unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The hypnotherapist delivers positive suggestions to the subconscious mind that quickly and easily move a person toward solutions, changes, and greater personal control.

Hypnosis is a naturally-occurring state of mind that everyone experiences daily. When you daydream, read a riveting book, watch a movie or television, lose yourself in artistic expression or drift off to sleep at night, you're experiencing a natural, yet altered state of mind. When used therapeutically, this altered state of mind features profound relaxation of body and mind with a highly productive, laser-like focus of attention. The hypnotherapist then acts as a trail guide to help you achieve your goals.

Clinical hypnotherapy, often as an adjunct to your physician's care, can help you accelerate healing and decrease or eliminate pain. Hypnosis during birth can provide natural anesthesia, as it helps you control your progress through labor and delivery.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

Hypnotherapy helps you achieve a safe and natural, altered state in which you experience deep relaxation of the body and conscious mind, creating a highly-focused attention that allows you to know your own subconscious mind. In the altered state, you gain access to a deeper understanding of your habits, behaviors, and emotions, as well as your physical well-being.

Your subconscious mind controls so much of your life. Wouldn't it be nice to be more in control? Hypnotherapy can help you achieve this by allowing you to access your subconscious mind, where habits, behaviors, and emotions are stored.

Hypnosis is NOT mind control, brainwashing, sleep, a substitute for appropriate medical care, the primary treatment for substance abuse, for someone in a psychotic state or on mind-altering drugs. It is a safe and natural way to access your subconscious mind and make positive changes in your life.

At Flagstaff Hypnotherapy, we believe that hypnotherapy works, and we have the experience and qualifications to help you achieve your goals.
