"Todd stopped by for an estimate which included a breakdown of various costs, which were quite reasonable and similar to other reviews. There were 4 areas that had been patched with particle board and plywood at one time (this is what actually got the ball rolling, when the leg of my bed broke through the floor, and I pulled back the carpet to find particle board). They were able to patch up these areas to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding original oak. Before the job started I was a little nervous. the carpets looked bad, but the wood underneath looked even worse. Todd reassured me that he's seen it before, and that it should clean up good, perhaps with the exception of some pet stains, but even those sanded out just fine. They did a phenomenal job and were very professional. Any shelves that might collect dust were taped off with plastic, and even though they started with what looked like a rough task, all the floors came out uniformly beautiful, even and smooth.
