Who We Are

Mass Excavation, Inc. (Mass X) is a highly capable and seasoned civil contractor established in 2004. Our team comprises Alaska residents who bring extensive experience and practical knowledge about worksite conditions across the state. We have completed over 200 diverse projects throughout Alaska, including site development for residential, commercial, and industrial projects; public works services including landfills, waste management facilities, and utilities; and a broad range of environmental work scopes. Our goal is to achieve the utmost in client satisfaction by implementing the building blocks of excellence: teamwork, accountability, performance, and communication.

Our Work

Mass X is a full-service company that tailors its services to meet the specific needs of each client from design inception to construction completion. We specialize in residential, commercial, and industrial site development, building site improvements, and public works services. Our expertise lies in delivering high-quality work while maintaining safe and efficient job sites.

One of our notable projects involved undertaking all snow and ice service and response demands for the 17 neighborhoods at JBER, providing safe passage on the roads, sidewalks, and unoccupied units for the 3,262 families that reside there. Our commitment to maintaining safe roads and sidewalks for the JBER community has not only ensured that residents can travel safely but has also helped emergency response teams reach people in need during winter weather events.

At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, we managed a project that worked well for them in terms of traffic flow, wait times, and overall progress, causing less impact than anticipated on their operations, finances, and ability for guests to arrive on time for education programs and events. Our communication, weekly meetings, and keeping stakeholders informed were crucial to the success of this project.
