At Shobu Aikido of the Berkshires, we are dedicated to providing a unique and enriching experience for those seeking to learn and grow through the art of Aikido. Founded in 1997 by Sensei Satoru Sato, our dojo is a spacious and welcoming environment that fosters spiritual and physical development. Our mission is to promote the true essence of Aikido, as envisioned by its founder Morihei Ueshiba, emphasizing the importance of peace, harmony, and self-awareness.

Our Dojo

Our dojo is equipped with safe and soft tatami mats, comfortable sitting areas for viewing practice, and modern facilities including changing rooms, a bathroom, and shower room. We pride ourselves on being a very friendly group, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds. Safe and convenient parking is also available, making it easy for everyone to join us.

Our Teachers

We are fortunate to have experienced and qualified instructors who are dedicated to guiding our students on their Aikido journey. Our instructors have been trained under the direction of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and are committed to upholding the highest standards of the art.

We offer a variety of classes for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Weekly Schedule

Our weekly schedule is designed to accommodate students with varying commitments. We offer classes on weekends from 11 am to 12:30 pm and on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. We encourage you to check our Facebook page for any temporary changes to the schedule.
