Trash Disposal
Our integrated waste management system processes household and commercial trash through advanced waste-to-energy technology. We accept non-recyclable materials, bulky items, and construction debris at our facilities with proper vehicle compliance measures. The processed waste generates renewable energy while maintaining strict environmental controls to minimize landfill impact.
Recycling Programs
We provide comprehensive recycling solutions for residential and commercial customers through drop-off centers and private hauler partnerships. Our facilities accept the 'Big 4' recyclables (cardboard, plastic bottles, metal cans, and glass jars) while educating the community about proper recycling practices to maximize material recovery and reduce contamination.
Hazardous Waste Management
Our Household Hazardous Waste Facility offers free disposal for Lancaster County residents of batteries, automotive fluids, chemicals, and electronic waste. We maintain strict safety protocols for handling dangerous materials while providing educational resources about proper disposal methods for items like pharmaceuticals, sharps, and propane tanks.
CNG Fueling Solutions

Daniel Youngs
Executive Director
Daniel Youngs leads LCSWMA with over 20 years of financial and operational experience. He oversees strategic planning, financial viability, and community relations after serving as CFO and working in private sector financial roles. Holds MBA from Lebanon Valley College.
Alexander Henderson III
General Counsel
Alexander Henderson serves as LCSWMA's legal counsel with extensive experience in Pennsylvania environmental law. He manages all legal matters for the authority after previously representing them as private counsel. Graduated from NYU Law School and practices in state and federal courts.

Director of Sustainability
Michelle Marsh directs sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance programs with over 15 years of experience in waste management. She leads recycling education efforts and renewable energy projects while holding advanced degrees in environmental science and strategic leadership.
Nick Kohr
Director of Engineering
Nicholas Kohr oversees engineering projects and facility improvements with professional registration in Pennsylvania. He manages infrastructure development across all LCSWMA sites after gaining extensive waste management industry experience since 2013. Questions
Where can I recycle magazines and catalogs?
Magazines and catalogs should be taken to the City of Lancaster's Recycling Drop-Off Center as they cannot be placed in standard recycling bins.
Why wasn't my trash picked up?
LCSWMA does not provide curbside collection. Contact your private hauler or municipality for trash pickup arrangements.
How do I dispose of old electronics?
Lancaster County residents can bring electronics to our Household Hazardous Waste Facility for free disposal during operating hours.
Is burning trash harmful to air quality?
Our waste-to-energy facilities use advanced emissions controls to ensure air quality compliance, with emissions well below state regulatory limits.
What happens to landfill gas?
We capture landfill gas through our collection system and convert it to electricity at our Turkey Point Wind Project.
Can I bring construction debris to your facilities?
Residential construction materials (small loads) are accepted at our Lancaster WTE Facility with proper preparation and vehicle compliance.
