Our Story

Founded in 1993, Fuller & Thaler Asset Management, Inc. is a pioneer in applying behavioral finance in investment management. Our team of experts has developed a unique approach that combines cognitive psychological theory and conventional finance to provide insights into investor behavior. We believe that by understanding and leveraging these biases, we can create a competitive edge in the market.

Understanding Behavioral Finance

At Fuller & Thaler, we recognize that investors make mistakes. We search for events that suggest investor misbehavior, such as over-reacting to negative news or under-reacting to positive news. By identifying these biases, we can capitalize on them to generate returns.

Our Strategies

We offer two mutual funds that cater to different investor needs: the FullerThaler Behavioral Small-Cap Equity Fund (FTHSX) and the FullerThaler Behavioral Small-Cap Growth Fund (FTXSX). The former seeks long-term capital appreciation, while the latter focuses on growth opportunities.

Our Approach

We take a different approach to investment management. Instead of following traditional methods, we seek to identify companies that may be misunderstood by the market. We look for companies with significant insider buying or stock repurchases, as well as those with large earnings surprises. Our Team

Our team consists of experienced investment professionals with a deep understanding of behavioral finance. Our Managing Partner, Raife Giovinazzo, PhD, CFA, has a background in behavioral finance and economics. Our Portfolio Managers, including Raymond Lin, CFA, and David Potter, CFA, have extensive experience in investment management. Our team also includes experts in risk management, trading operations, and client service.
