Our Wines

At Red Caboose Winery, we produce a wide range of sustainable wines, from dry to sweet, using only grapes grown on our estate. Our vineyard is located in the picturesque hills of Bosque County, where we grow big red wines such as Tempranillo, Syrah, Tannat, Touriga Nacional, Zinfandel, and Black Spanish, also known as Lenoir. Our wines have won numerous awards and medals in statewide, national, and international competitions.

Our winery and vineyard offer an extensive tasting room, unique musical events, and a beautiful property that is perfect for weddings and private occasions. We invite you to take a break from your daily routine and enjoy the fresh air, stunning views, and delicious locally-made red or white wine.

Our Distillery

Located in Clifton, Texas, our distillery and tasting room offer a high-class gathering place for Bosque residents and weekenders. We distill all our spirits in Old World style copper pot stills, using grapes grown organically in Meridian, Texas. Our distillery offers vodka, gin, brandy, and unique flavor infusions, such as Jalepeno, Cilantro, and more, straight from the garden.

Our Sustainable Approach

At Red Caboose Winery, we believe that the best wine begins with the best grapes. That's why we grow our grapes sustainably, using natural methods and avoiding chemicals and pesticides. Our vineyard is hand-tended, which allows us to yield superior quality fruit and craft Old World wines using long-established methods.

Our sustainable approach extends to our distillery, where we use only organic grapes grown in our vineyard. We believe that the quality of our grapes is the foundation of our exceptional wines and spirits, and we are committed to maintaining the natural balance of our vineyard and the environment.

Our History

The idea behind Red Caboose Winery started with a concept in the mind of Owner Gary McKibben. He wanted to combine Old World traditions of winemaking with new sustainable practices, working hand in hand with nature while creating unforgettable infusions. The name comes from the Red Caboose that McKibben purchased and moved to the property in 2003.

In 2005, the first bottle of wine was created, and the Meridian winery opened in 2007. Today, the Red Caboose is merely part of the iconic backdrop at the vineyard in Meridian, and the signature label of the Red Caboose Distillery in Clifton. Both locations offer sweet and dry wines, with much more to come since the first bottle was sampled.
