Good health and good sense are two of life's greatest blessings.
At Jericho Little League, we believe in the power of teamwork, self-confidence, and leadership skills for the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. Our main objective is to provide a safe and fun environment for children to learn and grow through the game of baseball. We aim to instill in them the values of sportsmanship, respect, and a love for the game that will last a lifetime.
Our organization is dedicated to providing a wide range of baseball programs for children aged 3-12. These programs are designed with children, families, and communities in mind, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate and enjoy the game. Our experienced coaches and volunteers are committed to teaching the fundamentals of baseball, while also focusing on the development of each child's skills and abilities.
We understand the importance of community involvement and teamwork in achieving our goals. That's why we encourage parents and guardians to get involved as volunteers, whether it's helping with coaching, umpiring, or assisting with our concession stand. Your support is crucial to the success of our league, and we appreciate every effort made to help us provide a positive experience for all our players.
Our Services
At Jericho Little League, we offer a variety of baseball programs designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels. These programs include:
- Blastball (Ages 3-4): This program is designed for our youngest players, focusing on basic motor skills and an introduction to the game of baseball.
- TBall (Ages 5-6): Building on the fundamentals learned in Blastball, TBall continues to develop players' skills while introducing them to the concept of team play.
- Mini Minors (Ages 6-7): In this division, players continue to refine their skills and learn more complex aspects of the game, such as pitching and catching.
- Minors (Ages 7-9): This division sees players further developing their skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the game, including strategies and teamwork.
- Majors (Ages 9-12): Our most advanced division, where players have the opportunity to hone their skills and compete against other teams in a more competitive environment.
In addition to these programs, we also offer skills training sessions and host various tournaments throughout the year, including the May Long Weekend Tournament. These events provide our players with additional opportunities to practice their skills and gain valuable game experience.
Registration and Fees
Registration for our baseball programs typically opens in January, with early bird discounts available for those who sign up before the end of February. Our registration fees vary by division, but we strive to keep costs affordable for all families. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in our programs, regardless of their financial situation.
Skills Assessment and Team Assignment
For our Majors Division, players are required to attend a skills assessment session before the start of the season. This allows us to evaluate each player's abilities and assign them to teams that are as evenly matched as possible. For all other divisions, we consider friend requests, school catchments, and pairing up potential parental/guardian coaching volunteers with their own children when assigning teams.
