A Rich History on Lake Champlain
Lake Champlain Yacht Club (LCYC), established in 1887, has been a vibrant hub for boating and sailing enthusiasts in Shelburne, Vermont for over 130 years. Nestled in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay, our club fosters a passionate community of boat lovers, welcoming both seasoned sailors and casual cruisers.
Dedicated to the Water
Our mission is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, prioritizing both competitive racing and leisurely cruising. We embrace a diverse fleet, welcoming both sailboats and powerboats.
Empowering Junior Sailors
Recognizing the importance of fostering future generations of sailors, LCYC boasts a thriving junior sailing program for children ages 8-17. Experienced instructors guide young sailors through their journey, teaching them essential skills in Optimist prams and Flying Junior dinghies.
Seasonal Adventures
From leisurely cruises to competitive races, our calendar is packed with events throughout the year. Our annual highlights include:
- Wednesday Night Racing: A thrilling weekly competition offering a mix of challenges and camaraderie.
- Lake Champlain Championship Series: A prestigious regional regatta showcasing the best sailors on Lake Champlain.
