Bankers Mortgage

The Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville (MBAL) is a local chapter of the national Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), which is the primary advocate for the real estate finance industry. Our organization is comprised of bankers, brokers, loan officers, and processors involved in the business of mortgage banking in the Louisville area.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to promote the interest of those engaged in the business of lending money upon real estate and of those engaged in the business of buying and selling mortgages secured by real estate, and to better safeguard and protect the borrower on real estate and the investor in real estate securities. Additionally, we provide opportunities for certified continuing education at regular luncheon meetings and training conferences and workshops.

Committees

Our organization has various committees that focus on specific areas of the mortgage banking industry. These committees work together to promote the interest of our members and the industry as a whole. Our committees include:

• Alliance Committee: Works to strengthen relationships with builders and realtors.
• By-Laws Committee: Reviews the association's by-laws for future revisions.
• Legislative Committee: Helps keep the membership informed of national, state, and local proposals and develops a plan to support positive legislation.
• Membership Committee: Develops a comprehensive program to enhance and increase membership with targeted growth.
• Programs Committee: Provides speakers for the monthly luncheon meetings and works with the Education Committee.
• Communications Committee: Develops a marketing plan and campaign for radio, television, newsletters, and other forms of advertising or communication.
• Community Service Committee: Plans events that benefit our local community and raise funds for our association and supported charities.
• Education Committee: Develops educational information and additional educational offerings to create value for all people employed in our industry.
• Fundraising Committee: Raising money for MBA Louisville activities and supported charities.
• Gala Awards Committee: Selects awards for Gala Event and other events, handles nomination submissions, and selection of award winners.
