Located just 14 miles east of Hayward, Wisconsin, Spider Lake Ranch is a family-owned and operated horseback riding stable nestled in the heart of the beautiful Spider Lake area. Our trails weave through the peaceful Northwoods forest, offering a unique perspective of this breathtaking region. Our experienced guides are always on hand to ensure a safe and comfortable ride for riders of all abilities.

Our Trail Rides

With 22 years of experience offering guided forest trail rides, Spider Lake Ranch is the trusted choice for horseback riding in the Hayward area. Our trails span 180 acres of meandering paths, providing the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing ride in the great outdoors. You can expect a warm welcome and personalized attention from the moment you arrive, including a detailed riding demonstration and the assignment of a horse suited to your size and ability.

At Spider Lake Ranch, we prioritize safety and comfort above all else. Our courteous guides are always available to help along the way, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride for all. We have horses suitable for riders of all abilities, making horseback riding a fun and accessible activity for the whole family.

Rates and Policies

We offer several ride options to suit your schedule and budget, including 1-hour and 1/2-hour rides. Please note that some restrictions apply, and all prices include tax. Prices are subject to change without notice. We require a 24-hour notice for cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee. For reservations made the day before your ride, cancellations must be made by 5:00pm to avoid the fee.

We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards for your convenience. Please note that a 3.5% service charge will be added to all card sales. We offer several discounts, including $10 off per person for boys and girls clubs, $10 off for active-duty military service members or veterans with ID, and $5 off for college students with school ID. We require a minimum of two riders, and all riders must be at least 7 years old and 48" tall to ride. For the health and safety of our horses, we strictly enforce a weight limit of 220lbs. All riders are weighed upon arrival with the exception of small children.

Our Commitment to Safety

At Spider Lake Ranch, the safety of our guests, horses, and staff is our top priority. We have several safety precautions in place to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all. Riders must be at least 7 years old and 48" tall to ride, and we regret that no exceptions can be made due to safety and insurance restrictions. Riding double is not permitted under any circumstances.
