Blue Star Enterprises NorthWest, Inc. (BSE-NW) is a small woman-owned business with approximately 20 employees, 10 of whom are licensed drillers. Since the early nineties, BSE-NW has drilled a large number of monitoring wells to support the cleanup campaign of the Hanford Nuclear Facility in Richland, Washington. The company has drilled and sampled the most radiologically contaminated soils handled since the 1960s without any safety or radiological incidents, utilizing a custom-built drill rig and support equipment.

At Blue Star Enterprises NorthWest, Inc., we take pride in our extensive experience and expertise in the drilling industry. Our founders, Rob and Laurie Dobush, have been involved in the drilling business since 1984, beginning in Manitoba, Canada. They moved to the United States to participate in the advancement of a relatively new drilling technology called sonic drilling, which utilizes high frequency vibrations to install drill pipe in the ground. In 1994, they established a small, woman-owned business in the Richland area to support a government-funded research program utilizing sonic drilling.

Our mission statement is simply "Quality over Quantity". We strive for quality results at a reasonable price while maintaining a safe and effective work environment for our customers, our employees, and the environment. We have reached a comfortable size so that we can concentrate on continuing to do the best work possible while maintaining an atmosphere conducive to safety and quality.

Our Services

Blue Star Enterprises NorthWest, Inc. offers a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our services include:

• Large Diameter Wells: We have extensive knowledge of subsurface conditions in the Columbia Valley gained through completion of numerous well projects in the region.
• Municipal Wells: We have drilled wells for clients in the cherry orchards and vineyards, as well as elsewhere in the farming community.
• Environmental Wells: We have drilled and completed literally hundreds of environmental wells at the Hanford nuclear facility. We have also installed wells for local engineering firms at various municipal landfills.
• Private Domestic Wells: BSE-NW is a full-service well drilling company. Many of our clients are local residents requiring well or pump installation and repair.
• Pump Installation: We provide full pump installation and service from small submersible pumps to large line shaft turbine pumps. We also build pump systems and houses.
• Well Repair Service: Our company has the ability to deepen and enlarge wells. We also fish out broken pumps and install screens.
• Other Services: If you are looking for drill tooling, our new company Black Dog Industries supplies fabrication of breakout bits, mud pumps, and other drilling equipment.
