The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room

The Ridge Winery, located in the serene landscape of Vevay, Indiana, is a business built on a passion for wine and a commitment to preserving the long-standing wine-making heritage of Switzerland County. Founded in 1990 by Tom Demaree, The Ridge Winery has grown from a vision into a thriving winery, producing a wide variety of wines that have become renowned in the region for their unique blends and consistent quality.

Tom Demaree, the owner and winemaker, turned his passion into a business, producing wines at the Demaree Family Farm for The Ridge Winery Inc. With the help of his wife Jane Demaree, family, and friends, Tom saw his dream become a reality. Today, The Ridge Winery offers 18 varieties of wine, each carefully crafted to provide a unique and enjoyable experience for the palate.

Our Wines

The wines produced at The Ridge Winery are known for their unique blends, using select fruits and grapes. Great detail is put into each vintage, ensuring consistent flavor, sweetness, and pleasure. The Ridge Winery has received numerous awards from the Indy International Wine Competition, the largest scientifically organized and independent wine competition in the United States. Our Wine List indicates the Indy International Wine Competition awards.

We now have a limited supply of barrel-aged wine; using only select Kentucky Bourbon barrels to age our wines. Dam View Red, a grape blend, and Barrel Aged Blackberry are currently two popular barrel-aged wines.

Our wine list includes dry wines such as Classy Red, a rich and bold Merlot, and Fancy Red, a Cabernet Sauvignon aged in barrels with hints of fruit. For those who prefer semi-sweet and sweet wines, we offer Rural Cool, a crisp American Riesling, and Sweet Harvest, a Niagara grape white wine. Our fruit wines, including Blackberry, Peach Crush, and Blueberry, are also popular choices.

Retail Outlets and Visits

The Ridge Winery has over 30 retail outlets in Indiana. If your favorite wine is not at each location, please contact us. For multi-case orders, contact our production area for a pickup appointment. No wine tasting or winery tours are available at this time. Visits to the winery are by appointment only.

Participation and Awards

The Ridge Winery is a proud participant in the Indy International Wine Competition. We are proud of our selection of award-winning wines!

When visiting our area, accommodations are available at the Vevay Swiss Inn, Riverside Inn, Follow The River RV Resort, Pleasants Rose Mansion Inn B&B, and other local establishments.
