Empowering a Greener Future, One Solution at a Time.

At the Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC), we envision a future where pollution is significantly reduced or prevented at its source. We aim to achieve this by providing high-quality, reliable, and impartial technical information, training, and services to businesses, governments, and pollution prevention technical assistance providers (TAPs). Our mission is to promote the use of less toxic chemical alternatives, improve businesses' bottom line through increased efficiency and reduced liability, and uphold trust by serving as a conduit between government agencies and facilitating collaboration.

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision statement reflects our commitment to reducing or preventing pollution at its source. This is achieved through strategic partnerships and collaborations that allow us to provide direct education and technical assistance to various stakeholders. Our mission statement outlines our goals, which include promoting the use of safer chemical alternatives, providing high-quality pollution prevention information, improving businesses' financial performance, and prioritizing communities that have historically faced environmental and socioeconomic disparities.

How We Work

PPRC is recognized for its technical expertise in solving environmental problems and promoting sustainable practices. We believe that preventing pollution or waste is more effective than trying to clean it up after it becomes an issue. Therefore, we constantly seek new approaches to solving problems, such as green chemistry, safer chemical alternatives, resource efficiency, greenhouse gas reductions, green business certification, and holistic environmental assessments. We work in the Pacific Northwest and nationally with various partners, leveraging the synergy that partnerships create. As a trusted broker of information and resources, we help businesses in the region adopt sustainable practices and reduce their environmental footprint.

Our Team

Our team comprises experienced professionals who are passionate about environmental protection and sustainability. Ed Gonzalez, our Executive Director, has over 20 years of experience in developing programs and collaborating with environmental organizations nationwide. Ken Grimm, our Industrial Outreach Manager, brings extensive experience from the manufacturing sector, including roles in environmental health and safety management. Michelle Gaither, our Industrial Engineer, has over 25 years of experience in pollution prevention and is committed to environmental preservation and conservation. Together, we form a strong team dedicated to achieving our vision and mission.

Services We Offer

At PPRC, we offer a range of services designed to help businesses and governments adopt sustainable practices and reduce their environmental impact. These services include:

  • Technical Assistance: We provide direct technical assistance to businesses, governments, and TAPs to help them adopt pollution prevention strategies and technologies.
  • Training: We offer training programs for businesses and government agencies on various topics, including spray efficiency, fats, oils, and grease abatement, and green chemistry.
  • Information Resources: We develop and share high-quality information resources on pollution prevention approaches, safer chemical alternatives, and sustainable practices.
