I had my rug professionally cleaned here and Im very impressed with the results. It came back extremely clean, fresh, and looking like new. You can tell they really know how to handle rugs with care. I also purchased a rug as a gift for a friend, and their whole family loved it. The quality of their rugs is excellent, and they have some very beautiful and valuable pieces. They are experienced, professional, and clearly take pride in their work. I highly recommend them if you need rug cleaning or are looking to buy a quality rug.

We were a bit nervous about having our antique Persian rug cleaned, but Power San Mateo Green Carpet / Rug Cleaning completely eased our concerns. Their technicians showed impressive expertise in caring for delicate rugs and used methods that were both effective and gentle. We were particularly happy with their use of green products, which left no residue or strong odors behind. Our rugs colors are vibrant again, and its texture feels wonderfully soft. The pick-up and delivery service was smooth and hassle-free. If you have valuable rugs, you can trust Power San Mateo Green Carpet / Rug Cleaning they truly are experts

This review is long overdue. We had stained a rug priced at $3500 to replace (see photos). I had to call almost a dozen cleaners just to find one that would tell me with true confidence that they believe they will succeed. Most of them replied that it would be around $500 with no guarantees. I finally came across this company and was very impressed by Alis quickness to respond and HIGH confidence.
I then learned the difference between a business that is just a cleaning product user versus a business that is a real rug crafter, qualified to modify and repair anything. On top of that, his quote was better than most of the others. The rug is clean and everyone is happy.

I've been coming here almost 5 years now, couldn't be happier with Ali's quality and speed. Good price and excellent care regardless whether its our white silk Persian rug or the wool Pottery Barn office rug.

While we were looking for someone to clean our antique, valuable family heirloom oriental rug, We found Bay Area Rugs company... They cleaned our rug without damaging and they fixed some fringes which were missing and some other small moth eaten areas. (free of charge)
After talking to owner, we found out that the only professional oriental rug cleaning company is Bay Area Rugs company. There are many carpet cleaners and they clean oriental rugs as well but they are not professional at cleaning oriental rugs.
They are professional at cleaning wall-to-wall carpet and upholstery. I thought I should write this review to help consumers like myself who needs to have their valuable oriental rugs cleaned by a professional.

Short Answer: Come here for your rug/ rug cleaning needs
Long Answer: Come to Ali if you want someone who will love your rug more than even you do. He is thoughtful, attentive, and kind to you and your rug. He loves his craft and his customers, and it shows. Ali cleaned and repaired a family heirloom rug for me, after it had been attacked by moths. I will be back with my other rugs soon. No one can beat Alis prices or service, highly recommend. If you are lucky he will share some wise life advice as well (for free).

I've brought three rugs here to get cleaned--one from Pottery Barn, another high quality rug from Afghanistan, another Turkish kilim-- and Bay Area Rugs and Ali have consistently done a fantastic job. Dirt and water stains were removed, and twice the stubborn smell and stain of cat pee. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and the reasonable prices. Highly recommended for all Bay Area rug cleaning needs, its even worth a long drive!

The owner of this company is a perssian. I will call him Rug doctor because he knows Rug so well. He checked all of the issues a rug may have before he start cleaning them. He fixes the rugs free before cleaning. He has a passion for handmade oriental rugs. He knows how to do remove stains and any kind of odor. He wouldnt clean a rug if he doesnt believe that it is a valuable rug. An amazing cleaning company.

Highly recommend. Hand-knotted silk and wool rugs need to be hand-washed, as they have been for thousands of years. Machines have the potential to ruin them, while at the same time costing a fortune in overhead passed directly to the consumer. They washed a valuable wool rug of mine last week. Not only did it come out perfectly soft and clean, but Art inspected it before the cleaning and noticed the side threading was unravelling in several small places. He contacted me first and repaired them, saving them from unravelling in the wash. No place gives better service or care and attention to your rug than here. And what a bargain!
