Great food with specials we appreciated, inspiring us to try something new. Pleasant, accommodating staff quickly greeted and sat us, without a reservation. The sunset views while dining were beautiful.

Food was phenomenal! From service to view, everything was perfect. I know reviews talk about a long wait but it was nice waiting with a drink by the water. I definitely recommended these drinks: Aperol Sprits frozen and the bloody Mary. For for food: the hot lobster roll, blackened chicken tacos, fried fish tacos, the burrito, and the shrimp and fries.

I love Breakwater. Outside seating with water views. The best bloody marys anywhere! Wonderful food. Friendly staff.

We were on a short tour of the CT shoreline to revisit the many places we have been to many times over the years. We stopped in Stonington to see the sights and have lunch at Breakwater. It is a great casual restaurant built on a pier out in the bay. Seating inside and out but when weather is nice like today, outside is the best. We had fish & chips and fish tacos. Both were excellent. Add a beer and it was perfect!

We really enjoyed our meal and sitting out on the deck next to the water. It's a beautiful location, and the service was excellent. Our server Trina was great, made some good suggestions and made us feel like long-time friends. The only thing this place needs to work on are the bathrooms. Both my wife and I were a bit surprised by the gross conditions of the men's and women's bathrooms. You can't help but wonder if this is carrying over to the kitchen.

First off, make sure you get a reservation here! It gets busy! Our waitress was fantastic , extremely kind and helpful. The view and ambiance are just perfect, I dont think theres a bad seat in the house. In regard to the food, the fried calamari was good but pretty heavy on the batter and it was more garnish than actual calamari on the plate,The seafood pasta was delicious and filling, however I wasnt super impressed by the salmon.

It had a great crispy exterior, however it lacked in flavor and the inside was a bit tough, I think it maybe could have used a sauce or just some extra salt and pepper!Overall, If you are in the area its not a bad option at all but I wouldnt say its a must try.

Location, atmosphere, food, service, sunset. All these are great here. Highly recommend Fish & Chips.

First timer with the family. GREAT location. Outdoor seating has a beautiful view. My wife said the scallops were the BEST she'd ever had. My son had the macaroni and cheese and everyone agreed that is was STELLAR (a lighter than normal but exceptionally tasty cheese sauce with shells instead of elbows). The clam chowder was very good. The only not as great item was the lobster salad roll. I've had much better in Maine and Boston but it was a solid three stars. I should have tried the tuna! Still, this is a five star place for sure.

Had a wonderful lunch yesterday here. First time dining at Breakwater. Was recommended to me by an acquaintance. Very comfortable dining area with plenty of room to spread out. Had the cod fish tacos. Fish was excellent and the tacos were delicious, but a bit too many onions in the mix for my taste. On the other hand their NE Clam chowder was one of the best Ive had in years. Its chock full of claims and delicious potatoes. Its consistency is more like a stew than a soup. Just excellent. Our server Erin was as nice and as friendly and as efficient as can be. We were lucky to have her but everyone there seems very nice.

Went to Breakwater for lunch this afternoon. We had Allie as our server, super knowledgeable, friendly and paid great attention to detail. The restaurant is right on the water with lots of natural light pouring in, not a bad spot in the house! Got the breakwater salad with blackened chicken, delicious! Also had the blueberry bread pudding. It was buttery, and piping hot.

I'd drive 2 hours to get a takeout lobster roll just to go right back home. BEST lobster roll I've ever had. Super buttery, warm and bun was mint. Can't beat the view, do romantic. Our waiter Mat was awesome.
