Chris has made every step of the way enjoyable and memorable. He is extremely patient and works with your schedule. Even for a busy college student who doesn't have a lot of time to do more than just be a hobbyist, he is able to accommodate my skills and progression rate.
He's able to answer any and all of my questions, even off topic ones. This makes his teaching style extremely inclusive. I always have a great time with lessons. If you are on the fence and don't know where to start, Chris will help you get started. You will see progress with Chris, guaranteed.
The only downside is that because he is such an excellent teacher, there is a waitlist to become his student. I had to wait nearly a year to become a student. Was it worth it? Yes. He revived my passion for music.
TLDR: I highly recommend Chris for beginners!
As an absolute beginner guitar student trying to fill time during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unsure at first of how well remote guitar lessons would go. I needn't have worried. Chris has done an exceptional job of teaching via Skype, and though he has a home studio where he can provide lessons during "normal" times, I have been very pleased with how our lessons have gone via video chat.
If you have a guitar tucked away in your closet that you'd like to learn to play, or if you're an experienced guitarist wanting to hone your chops, I can recommend Primeau Guitar Studio without hesitation.
"Someday." I'd told myself that for several years. I even got an inexpensive acoustic guitar one Christmas, and on more than one occasion I picked it up and looked for YouTube videos. Surely I could teach myself, right? I fantasized about how fun it would be to be able to strum through my favorite 80's power ballads around a campfire with friends. But inevitably, my efforts at self-teaching ended in frustration.
I finally concluded that unless I got serious and took lessons, "someday" learning guitar would end up becoming "never." I searched Yelp for guitar teachers and came across Chris Primeau.
I've been taking lessons with Chris for roughly one hour a week over the past year, and I'm staggered at my own progress. I can play dozens of songs with confidence. A year ago I couldn't play jack.
It's one thing to be tremendously talented at something (which Chris is), but it's another skill set to be able to transfer that information clearly to a student. Chris strikes a really great balance--tons of patience as you work through tasks, but also continually pushing you to grow. I look forward to every lesson.
If you're on the fence, just pull the trigger and book a lesson. Don't be surprised if his schedule fills up, but trust me when I say it's 100% worth the effort to get started with him. You'll be glad you did.

Chris's instruction has transformed me from someone who "plays the guitar" to someone who truly understands the instrument and its potential. In about 18 months of lessons my playing in terms of both technique and creativity are significantly improved, and I'm on the road to becoming the guitar player I've always wanted to be.
For the last year I have been taking guitar lessons from Chris, also. Doing it more for a creative outlet and to help my failing memory than any sort of talent, Chris is great with me also. Patient and positive, even when I play like crap or havent had time to practice; I feel like he meets me at my level of commitment and speed without judgment or frustration. I recommend Chris wholeheartedly for any age or level of guitar instruction.
