Mallow Run Winery & Vineyard

At Mallow Run Winery, we are dedicated to providing a unique and enjoyable experience for all of our visitors. Nestled on a family farm in Bargersville, IN, our vineyard is the result of years of hard work by John Richardson and his son, Bill, and Bill's wife, Laura. We take pride in our family-owned boutique winery, where we grow grapes for our wines, supply other Indiana wineries, and provide a cozy and rustic tasting room for our guests.

Our Story

The story of Mallow Run Winery began in 1835 when John Richardson's family settled on the farm. After growing up on the farm, John moved away to teach school for 35 years before returning to the farm with the intent of growing grapes to supply other Indiana wineries. His son, Bill, grew up dreaming of living on the farm and settled into the original Mallow/Richardson home after graduating from Purdue with a degree in Agriculture. Bill met Laura (Emerson) while playing in the Carmel Symphony, and with a shared love for music, wine, and the farm, they married in 2005. The first grapes were planted in 2000, with more to follow in subsequent years. Vineyards now cover nearly seven acres of the family's 600-acre farm, with corn, soybeans, and cattle being raised on the remainder.

We also offer a beautiful deck where you can sip wine in the sunshine, and a spacious lawn where you can spread out a blanket and enjoy one of our many outdoor concerts in the summer. Additionally, we provide private event spaces for special occasions, pet-friendly facilities, and volunteer opportunities for those interested in helping out on the farm.
