History

The Ruby House has a rich history that spans generations. Our story began in 1970, when Mr. Leo Toskin purchased the Sagdalen family home on Winter Street and converted it into a restaurant and saloon. After a devastating flood in 1972 destroyed our original building, Leo rebuilt the Ruby House and Red Garter Saloon, restoring it to its former glory.

Today, the Ruby House is leased and operated by Steve and Linda Zwetzig, along with their daughter, Brandi Hunsaker. We continue to honor our heritage by showcasing Indian artifacts and crafts in our Indian Room, dedicated to the late Paha Ska, a local native artist. Our walls are adorned with original Paha Ska Buffalo pelts, telling stories rich in Sioux heritage.
