Our company was founded by Sean Griffin, a local of Wrightsville Beach and a passionate surfer with over 15 years of experience in teaching people of all ages and skill levels how to surf. We provide a range of surfing services, from private lessons to summer surf camps, all aimed at promoting ocean safety, building stamina, and having fun in the process.

Private Surfing Lessons

At Sean's Private Surf Instruction, LLC, we believe that everyone can learn to surf, no matter their age or ability level. That's why we offer private surfing lessons that are tailored to your specific needs, from the style of waves you'll be riding to the form of instruction and the goals of each lesson. Our private lessons are the safest, most effective, and most valuable way to learn to surf in the area, and we're confident that you'll agree. We provide all the equipment you need, and our lessons are available year-round for all ages and skill levels.

Surf Camps

If you're looking for a kid's surf camp in the Wilmington and/or Wrightsville Beach area, look no further than Sean's summer surf camps. Our camps are designed for kids and teens who want to take their knowledge of the ocean and surfing to the next level. We provide students with all necessary equipment, professional surf instruction, safety coaching, advice, mentoring, skill development, and confidence in the ocean. Our camps are not only fun and effective, but they're also the safest camps in the area. We throw in some fun and educational games and relays when the waves get a little rough.

Meet Sean Griffin

Sean Griffin, the founder of Sean's Private Surf Instruction, LLC, is a 36-year-old surfer who was born in Charlottesville, VA, and grew up in Wrightsville Beach/Wilmington, NC. Sean has been teaching surfing lessons for over 15 years and has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2018, Sean became the father of a beautiful baby boy named Sean the 2nd, and he loves spending every second with him and their Australian Shepherd, Winston-Dog. When Sean's not teaching surf lessons or surfing, he enjoys skateboarding, riding his bicycle, canoeing, traveling, exploring, music, playing music, art, making art, reading, writing, and creativity.
