Boulangerie

Before Boulangerie, Kennebunk did not have a proper bakery. That is, Kennebunk did not have a bakery where bread is mixed and proofed for hours, and baked in the dark of morning, sending warm yeasty aromas wafting down the street as a harbinger of dawn. Boulangerie, A Proper Bakery, opened in May of 2015 with the mission to bring a piece of Europe to Kennebunk, Maine.

Our Story

Michelle McGuire, a hospitality expert with a passion for food and beverage management, took the reins of Boulangerie in 2019. With a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell School of Hotel Administration, Michelle brought a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Her dedication to quality, tradition, and hospitality has positioned Boulangerie as a standout in the Kennebunk community.

Our Philosophy

At Boulangerie, we believe in the importance of traditional techniques combined with modern twists and innovation. Our commitment to using locally sourced ingredients from Maine and New England farms whenever possible is a priority. Our Red Barn, restored to its former glory, now serves as a cozy venue for guests to indulge in our freshly baked goods, specialty coffee, and selection of wine and beer.
