Toasted and Roasted was founded in 2016 by Mike and Ali, a husband and wife team, who share a passion for quality and hospitality in every aspect of the cafe and roastery. Our mission is to provide only the highest grade of beans, sourced from around the world through direct trade with farmers, ensuring that every detail from farm to table and bean to cup is attended to with care.
Our Story
Our journey began with a love for coffee and a dream to create a welcoming space where people can come together to enjoy a great cup of coffee. Mike, with his vast knowledge of roasting, spent months perfecting his process, and Ali, with her entrepreneurial spirit, brought her marketing and operational expertise to the table. Together, they created a unique atmosphere where customers can feel at home.

Sourcing
We believe that a great cup of coffee is only as good as its green bean. To achieve this, we partner with the best specialty coffee importers, who have built and sustained wonderful networks with direct access to farmers around the globe. This allows us to obtain a premium product and form a connection to the origin of the coffee, from Ethiopia to Peru, Indonesia, or Brazil.
Roasting
Before opening the shop, Mike spent months perfecting his process of roasting coffee beans. He met with many coffee gurus, read books, and traveled the globe to learn all he could about creating the ultimate roast. Our roasting process brings out the aromatic flavors locked inside green coffee beans. Beans are stored green, a state in which they can be kept without loss of quality or taste. Roasting causes chemical changes to take place as the beans are rapidly brought to very high temperatures. When they reach the peak of perfection, they are quickly cooled. Roasted beans smell like coffee and weigh less because the moisture has been roasted out of them.
Quality Control
With every roasted batch, we start the cupping process to ensure high-quality flavor in every cup. Once the tasting is given a thumbs up, we let the beans sit for a certain amount of time depending on their origin, and then they are bagged, brewed, and ready to be drunk! We recommend that you use your fresh coffee beans within two weeks.
