Our History
Our journey began in 2002 when we opened Alyeska Physical Therapy, Inc. in downtown Wasilla. Over the years, we have grown rapidly and expanded our services to include occupational and speech therapy. In 2014, we built our current facility, which allows us to offer a comprehensive range of services under one roof. Our team comes from diverse therapy backgrounds, ensuring that our patients receive expert, experienced care for a wide range of orthopedic and neurological conditions.
Our Team
Our team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping patients achieve their goals. Our staff includes:
Physical Therapy Team
- Rusty Burlingame, PT, MS: Rusty graduated with a master's in physical therapy from Boston University in 1999. He has extensive training in advanced manual therapy techniques, including those from the Ola Grimsby Institute.
- Jacob Arvidson, PT, DPT: Jacob graduated with his doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Saint Augustine in Florida in 2005. He has worked in outpatient orthopedics and has a special interest in manual therapy.
- Kathryn Tiemessen, PT, DPT: Kathryn graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Indiana State University in 2023. She has experience working with orthopedic and neurologic populations and has a special interest in traumatic brain injuries, balance, and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Pamela Burlingame, PT, MS: Pamela graduated with her master's degree in physical therapy from Boston University in 1999. She has experience working with patients with central neurological disorders and enjoys taking a functional approach to physical therapy.
- Valerie Walker, PT, NDT-C: Valerie earned her Master's in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. She has over 20 years of clinical experience working with all ages with neurological disorders and holds certifications in Neurodevelopmental Technique and other advanced courses.
