Chicago Firefighters Credit Union has a rich history that dates back to 1937 when it was founded as 2nd Division Credit Union to serve the financial needs of Chicago firefighters. Chicago Firefighters Credit Union was born out of a need to address the lack of financial services available to working-class individuals during the Great Depression. The founders, comprised of Chicago firefighters, came together to create a credit union that would cater to the financial needs of their colleagues and their families.
