At District Irish Dance, we are not just a dance studio - we are a vibrant community united by our passion for Irish dance and our commitment to fostering individuality, teamwork, and tradition. Our mission is to promote individuality in Irish dance through technique, teamwork, and tradition. We achieve this goal by combining expert instruction led by some of the best professional Irish dancers in the world, with a focus on student inclusion and community building.
Our Story
Our journey began with a dream. Native Washingtonian Joe Duffey, our Founder and Creative Director, always dreamed of opening an Irish dance school and putting his mark on the DC dance scene. With over a decade of experience as a professional dancer, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our studio. He has performed with iconic shows such as Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, and has even had the honor of performing at the White House.
Our Faculty
We are proud to have an exceptional team of instructors who are dedicated to teaching and sharing their passion for Irish dance. Our faculty includes:
- Joe Duffey, TCRG - Founder, Owner, and Creative Director
- Bernadette Devereaux, TCRG - Head of Programs and Lead Instructor
- Elyse Transon, TCRG - Workshop Instructor and Choreographer
- Phil Stacy, TCRG - Certified Instructor and Choreographer
- Kendal Griffler - Head of Marketing and Outreach, Instructor, and Studio Manager
Our Studio
Our studio is a beautiful, spacious facility located in the heart of Tenleytown DC. Our studio is designed to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels. We offer a variety of classes, from beginner to advanced, and from age 3 to adult.
