We use the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and federal laws to exempt our clients' property from their Chapter 7 bankruptcy, allowing them to keep their exempted personal assets.
• Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, we help clients pay some or all of their debts from their regular earnings or income. We work with clients to design a Chapter 13 plan that accounts for their income, personal assets, and debts. This plan allows clients to bring their mortgage current, keep cars even if they are behind on car loan payments, catch up on required payments such as child or spousal support, taxes, and even rent. We also help clients modify their mortgage payments and strip off second mortgages or home equity lines of credit.
• Chapter 12 Bankruptcy: If our clients are family farmers or fishermen, we help them file a Chapter 12 bankruptcy to reorganize their debts.
• Chapter 11 Bankruptcy: We help businesses and, in some cases, individuals, reorganize their debts through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
