Our Team
Our founder, Jodi Hammer, has worked in the field of education for over 30 years. She has taught all levels of education and has served as an Assistant Dean of Middle School and as the Principal at American Heritage/American Academy in Boca/Delray. Jodi specializes in working with students with learning differences, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and visual and auditory processing disorders. She also works as an advocate, supporting families to ensure their children receive the necessary accommodations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support their educational growth. Jodi holds several certifications, including Specific Learning Disabilities K-12, Elementary Education K-6, ESOL Endorsement K-12, Emotionally Handicapped K-12, Gifted Endorsement, Professional Crisis Management, Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention, Orton Gillingham Reading Hill Rap Reading, and All Kinds of Reading.
Our Services
At Educate For Success, we offer a wide range of services to cater to the unique needs of each student. Our services include private tutoring in all subject areas, including reading, math, science, history, and foreign languages. We also offer test preparation, education consulting, and advocacy services for students with learning differences.
Reading Comprehension and Early Literacy Skills
Our reading programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each student. We offer a variety of multi-sensory reading techniques, including Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, and Hill RAP reading programs. These programs break decoding skills into segments using auditory, visual, and kinesthetic cues. We also work on reading comprehension skills, including main idea, sequencing, recalling facts and details, cause and effect, vocabulary, context clues, inferencing skills, prediction, and summarizing.
Literary Techniques
At Educate For Success, we know that reading comprehension is more than answering the who, what, where, when, and how in a given text. Our tutors work with students to understand author's purpose, author's voice, author's point of view, figurative language, making predictions, character analysis, story elements, personal response, evaluation, and synthesis of information.
Math
Our tutors are available for all levels of math and engineering, including college level and beyond. Our specializations include geometry, integrated math, pre-algebra, algebra I and II, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, honors, and more.
Education Consulting and Advocacy
At Educate For Success, we understand the challenges that parents face when navigating the complex world of special education. We are committed to providing education consulting and advocacy services to help families navigate the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 Plan process. We can help families develop meaningful and measurable goals for their child's educational program and identify the appropriate accommodations to help their child succeed in the classroom setting.
