Our Story
Jose Katz's journey in the jewelry industry began long before he established Jewelry Specialty by Katz. Prior to 1995, he was the corporate diamond and gold buyer for Golbro, a local family-owned jewelry and home goods store chain based out of Birmingham, Alabama. After leaving Golbro, Jose owned and operated the independent retail store Golbro Jewelry Center from 1995 to 2009, where he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including appraisals, repairs, and custom jewelry design and ordering. Since 2009, he has been the principle owner of Jewelry Specialty by Katz, providing jewelry appraisals, repair, and customization services to private customers as well as established banking and insurance institutions.
