As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I, Thom Keenan-Hunt, have dedicated my career to helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of life. With a background in the entertainment industry, recovery, and mental health services, I bring a unique perspective to my work as a therapist. My journey has taken me from working as an actor and in production to counseling and therapy, where I've developed a strength in working with the LGBTQ+ community.

My Approach

I believe that we often get stuck in patterns and behaviors that no longer serve us. My approach is centered around empowering individuals and couples to break free from these patterns and forge new paths forward. Through a warm and non-judgmental approach, I work collaboratively with my clients to identify the underlying causes of their struggles and develop effective coping mechanisms. Whether you're struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, or relationship issues, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Services

I offer a wide range of services to individuals and couples, with a focus on addiction recovery, HIV-positive clients, and the greater LGBTQ+ community. Some of the specific areas I treat include:

• Gay men's issues, such as substance abuse and addiction, HIV/AIDS, sex and sexuality, relationships, and aging
• LGBT Issues, including coming out, homophobia, and living in a heteronormative culture
• Addiction and recovery from contemplation to harm reduction and abstinence-based models
• Gender identities and expressions; non-binary and intersex identities; sexuality and sexual expression
• Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health diagnoses
• Job and career issues, stress reduction, and anger management
• Relationship issues, effective communication strategies, and conflict resolution

Fees

My fees are $200 for individual therapy and $300 for couples. Payment methods include cash or credit card. Some sliding scale appointments are available.

Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. There are a few exceptions: suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse, threats of serious bodily harm to another person/s, and suicidal intentions.
