Finding Freedom from Conflict
Welcome to our practice, where we specialize in providing compassionate and effective help for individuals and couples dealing with relationship issues. As a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Psychologist with over 30 years of experience, I am dedicated to staying at the cutting edge of therapeutic methods and techniques. My current approach is collaborative and strengths-based, with a strong emphasis on making use of existing strengths to achieve relationship goals.
Who I Am
With over three decades of experience working with couples and relationships, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. I am both a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Psychologist, licensed in Texas. However, I understand that being in practice for a long time might make one seem old-fashioned, and that's not the case. I have been teaching and training in Marriage & Family Therapy training programs since 1998, ensuring that I stay up-to-date with the latest, most effective methods.
How I Work
As a collaborative and strengths-based practitioner, I work with you to understand your unique qualities, concerns, strengths, resources, and capabilities. Together, we develop plans, discuss approaches, and utilize your strengths to work through difficult situations, problems, and concerns. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of trust, empathy, and mutual respect. I work closely with you to ensure that you feel understood, respected, and that what we discuss makes sense, even if it takes some time for the ideas to form fully.
Relationship Counseling
Choosing the right counseling method can be overwhelming, given the hundreds of options available. What matters most is how well you connect with the therapist. A good starting point is a brief conversation or an initial meeting to help you determine if you feel understood, respected, and that what the therapist says makes sense.
My approach to relationship counseling emphasizes making use of existing strengths as a couple and utilizing a collaborative approach that encourages everyone to work together as a team. I believe that good relationship therapy is an art that combines the latest science on what makes relationships work, tailored to your unique situation.
