Our Story

Founded by Uma Stewart, a renowned interior designer and architect, our firm is built on a foundation of creativity, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the human experience. Uma's passion for design is informed by her Indian heritage and her studies in American and English design styles. Her international perspective allows her to bring a unique and refreshing approach to the design process.

Uma's journey in design began in the publishing industry, where she worked as an acquisitions editor and later as a photo editor for a women's fashion magazine. Her foray into design led her to study at Parsons and NYU, where she honed her skills as an interior designer. Her PhD work in communications and culture at the University of Illinois further expanded her understanding of the complex relationships between space, culture, and the individual.
