The Thursday Club, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1921 by four young women who envisioned a club that combined social activities with civic and benevolent projects. In 1927, their dream of having a clubhouse to call their own became a reality when they were granted a deed to a large parcel of land in the Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma. Today, the Clubhouse stands as a beautiful San Diego wedding and event venue, renowned for its timeless Spanish architecture and expansive ocean views.
Over the past 100 years, The Thursday Club has grown and thrived, but the core values and traditions remain the same. The Club continues to participate in fundraising activities and service projects, both large and small, in fulfillment of the founding members' vision. One of the most well-known events is the Annual Rummage Sale in Balboa Park, which offers half of its proceeds to various entities within Balboa Park and grants the remaining funds to San Diego community philanthropies.
