Our Story
At Fontanella Family Winery, our story begins with a chance encounter at a Jimmy Buffett concert, where winemaker Jeff Fontanella charmed the hearts of his future wife, Karen, with a magnum of ZD Chardonnay. With a passion for winemaking instilled in him during his studies at UC Davis, Jeff went on to hone his skills in the cellars of Opus One and ZD. Karen, an aspiring young attorney, soon joined Jeff in his pursuit of a career in winemaking. Together, they embarked on a journey to create their own winery, driven by their shared passion for life, family, and wine.
