Moyse Environmental Services was established in 1995 with the goal of providing technical expertise and experienced environmental consulting services. Over the past 28 years, we have built a reputation for being knowledgeable and trusted in our field. Our services cover a wide range of environmental areas including wetlands, vernal pools, and water resources; soil science and soil surveys; site evaluation and wastewater disposal system design; third-party inspection and regulatory compliance monitoring; and agriculture and other land uses. We take pride in our ability to provide comprehensive solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal projects.

Protected Resource Identification and Mapping

We have provided protected resource identification and mapping throughout Maine for over 30 years. This includes services such as wetlands, waterbodies, vernal pools, hydric soils, shoreland zones, and significant wildlife habitats. These services are essential for projects of all sizes and types.

Soil Science and Soil Surveys

Our certified soil scientist has over 30 years of experience conducting High Intensity Soil Surveys at each of the four levels (A, B, C, and D). We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss and define your project goals and develop a scope of services that meet your needs.

Site Evaluation and Wastewater Disposal System Design

We have extensive experience in the evaluation of soils and the designing of residential and commercial septic systems. We have designed hundreds of residential septic systems for first-time or replacement systems and are also involved in "engineered systems" for larger projects. We work closely with builders, contractors, developers, realtors, and potential new homeowners to determine the suitability of a parcel for new dwellings to multi-family housing projects.

GIS/CAD and GPS Mapping

We provide Global Positioning System (GPS) mapping of your site's features, including protected resources, soils, existing development, etc. that can then be used to properly plan and permit your project. We use the latest GPS technology and equipment and have capable staff to process and use this data to create detailed maps for your project's planning.

Project Compliance Monitoring and Third-Party Inspections (3PI)

We have established ourselves as one of the most respected and well-known firms in the state for project compliance monitoring. Our experienced and knowledgeable 3PIs have been a key part in the successful completion of numerous large-footprint projects across the state. The Maine Department of Protection (DEP) typically requires a 3PI for most large "Site Law" projects, including on many of the recent renewable energy developments (wind, solar, and transmission lines).

Agriculture

We provide consulting and plant or soil sampling to assist clients with all of their soil fertility needs, from growing a garden, to establishing a healthy lawn to larger agricultural production of crops.
