Our Story
Founded over a decade ago, Darby Winery has established itself as one of the leading wineries in Washington State. Our journey began with a passion for wine and a desire to create something special. Our first commercial vintage in 2005 set the stage for our growth and success. With the opening of our Woodinville tasting room in 2006, we expanded our production and further solidified our reputation.
Meet Our Team
Our team is comprised of dedicated individuals who share a passion for winemaking and a commitment to excellence. Meet our owner and head winemaker, Darby English, who brings years of experience and expertise to the winery. Ben Almquist, our assistant winemaker, joins Darby in crafting our exceptional wines. Teresa Jones, our general manager and chief wine matcher, ensures that every guest has an unforgettable experience at our tasting rooms.
Vineyards
At Darby Winery, we believe in sourcing the best fruit from the best vineyards in Washington State. We partner with five exceptional vineyards, including Dineen, Quintessence, Discovery, Stonetree, and Stillwater Creek. Our winemaker carefully selects the finest grapes to craft our varietals, ensuring consistency in quality and authenticity.
Wine Production
Our wine production is guided by our commitment to quality and dedication to traditional winemaking techniques. We employ a minimalist approach, using only the finest French oak to age our wines. Our winemaker hand-picks the grapes at the optimal time, ensuring the best possible flavors and aromas. We use daily pump overs and press when the flavors have fully developed, resulting in complex and full-bodied wines.
