Building Leaders for Tomorrow
A Legacy of Empowering Young Minds since 1945
Youth Incorporated stands as a testament to the transformative power of summer camp. Established in 1945 by the visionary Mr. Allen Dobson, our mission has remained steadfast: to empower young minds and foster their potential through enriching experiences in a supportive outdoor environment.
For over 75 years, we have welcomed campers to Camp Y.I., our picturesque peninsula nestled amidst the beauty of Percy Priest Lake in LaVergne, Tennessee. Surrounded by lush forests and the sparkling waters, young minds discover new passions, forge lasting friendships, and embark on transformative journeys.
Building Leaders for Tomorrow
At Youth Incorporated, we believe in creating a nurturing space where young people can develop their physical, emotional, and social skills. Through a diverse range of age-appropriate activities, campers:
- Discover their talents: Horseback riding, lake adventures, arts and crafts, and outdoor living skills allow campers to explore new hobbies and unleash their creativity.
- Grow their confidence: Overcoming challenges on our ropes course, climbing tower, or participating in friendly sports foster a sense of courage and self-belief.
- Build lasting friendships: The camaraderie and shared experiences create a strong sense of belonging, nurturing important social skills.
More Than Just Summer Camp
Our commitment to enriching young lives extends far beyond the summer months. We offer:
- Group events and retreats: Tailor-made programs for schools, youth groups, and families.
- Staff training programs: Empowering aspiring counselors to become exceptional mentors.
- Media outreach: Sharing inspiring stories and celebrating the achievements of our campers.
