Chris is a passionate musician, composer, and dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. He finds joy in sharing his love of music with students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned musicians looking to refine their craft. He resides in Seattle with his wife, Meleah, and their two daughters, Charlie and Nina. Chris's musical journey began early and has taken him on a diverse path, encompassing a wide range of genres and collaborative projects.

Chris's teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive and stress-free learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring their musical potential. He believes in tailoring each lesson to the individual student, carefully adapting his approach to meet their unique needs and goals. His lessons are not just about technical proficiency but also about fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for music.

Music Instruction

Chris offers private lessons in guitar (both acoustic and electric), bass, and piano. He draws upon his extensive experience in various musical styles, including Blues, Jazz, Classical, Rock, and Folk, to provide students with a well-rounded musical education.

Whether you are a complete beginner taking your first steps in music or an experienced player looking to expand your repertoire and technique, Chris can provide you with the guidance and inspiration you need. His lessons are designed to be engaging, informative, and most importantly, enjoyable.

In addition to individual instrument lessons, Chris also offers Composition and Orchestration coaching, helping aspiring songwriters and composers develop their creative voice and craft compelling musical pieces.

His real-world experience in the music industry allows him to impart practical knowledge and insights, preparing his students not only for musical excellence but also for potential careers in the field.

A Life in Music

Chris's musical journey is one of continuous exploration and evolution. He has been deeply involved in various musical ensembles and projects throughout his career.

He proudly performs with groups like Tuning the Air, The Atomic Chamber Ensemble, and Lost Pedro, showcasing his versatility and musical depth. He was also honored to join the legendary band King Crimson on keyboards for their 2017 US tour.

Chris's commitment to music extends beyond performance. He actively participates in Guitar Craft courses and is a member of Seattle Circle, deepening his understanding of music theory and practice.
