Handmade with love, one stitch at a time.
For over three decades, Al's Attire has been a cornerstone of San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood, providing high-quality, bespoke clothing and accessories to our valued customers. Our journey began in the 1980s, when our founder, Al, opened a small shoe repair shop on Mission Street. Over the years, we've evolved to become a renowned destination for custom-made clothing, hats, bags, and more.

From our humble beginnings as a small shoe repair shop to our current status as a premier fashion destination, Al's Attire has remained committed to our core values of quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.

Quality of Work
The reviews highlight the mixed experiences of customers when it comes to the quality of work provided by Al's Attire. The positive reviews praise the bespoke clothing and accessories, stating that the products are made with top-quality materials and exceptional tailoring. For example, Ryan Cooper comments that the friendly staff are willing to answer questions and chat about style, budget, and hopes and dreams for the perfect outfit. Fred, another satisfied customer, notes that the workmanship is exceptional, stating that the pair of boots he purchased is "possibly the most beautifully made pair of boots I've ever owned".
On the other hand, some customers have reported receiving subpar service and poor quality products. Josh Rocklage, for instance, had a pair of custom-made shirts made but the jacket did not fit correctly and had to be remade several times. Lori Charlton, another disappointed customer, waited for four months for her custom-made boots but never received them.
Customer Service
The customer service experience is also mixed, with some customers having positive interactions with the staff and others reporting poor service. Will Reiher mentions that the staff were welcoming and happy to talk about their products, while Joshua Tjaden commends the attention to detail and care for patrons. However, Josh Rocklage and Lori Charlton both express frustration with the difficulties they encountered when trying to resolve issues with their custom-made clothing.
Value for Money
The value for money is also a concern for some customers. Josh Rocklage felt that the final product did not match the original design and was not worth the cost. Lori Charlton was ultimately forced to dispute the charge with her credit card company to receive a refund.
