Founded in 2017 by Marvin and Michele, our mission is to cultivate a love for aviation in every student who walks through our doors. Our team of experienced instructors are passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of pilots. Our Team
Our instructors are not just skilled pilots, but also passionate educators who are dedicated to helping you achieve your aviation dreams. With diverse backgrounds and experiences, our team brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table.
Marvin Harrigan, one of our owners, is a commercial pilot with a private pilot's license, instrument rating, multi-engine rating, and an instrument instructor rating. His passion for flying began when he was just a young boy, watching planes take off and land at the St. Thomas airport. His journey to becoming a pilot was not traditional, but it didn't deter him from pursuing his dream.
Stacy Sosa, another member of our team, is a commercial pilot with a private pilot's license, instrument rating, and a CFI rating. Growing up in Miami and Guatemala, Stacy always admired his father's piloting skills and strived to follow in his footsteps.
Brinton Thrasher, another member of our team, is a commercial pilot with a private pilot's license, instrument rating, and a CFI rating. His grandfather was a WWII bomber pilot, and his uncle was a charter pilot, making flying a family tradition.
Duane Drummond, a valuable member of our team, is a commercial pilot with a private pilot's license, instrument rating, and a CFI rating. He's a seasoned pilot with 13 years of experience in management, but ultimately decided to follow his true passion for flying.
Daniela Sorgente, another talented instructor, is a commercial pilot with a private pilot's license, instrument rating, and a CFI rating. Growing up near a busy airport, she was fascinated by the thought of taking off and landing among the clouds. Her parents, both pilots, encouraged her to pursue her passion for flying.
John Molnar, a skilled pilot, holds a commercial pilot's license, instrument rating, and a CFI rating. Growing up near a bustling airport, he was intrigued by the idea of flying massive objects off the ground. After discovering flight simulators and taking a discovery flight at 12, he caught the "aviation bug" and hasn't looked back since.

Overall Experience
The reviews for Superior Aviation Gateway are mixed, with some pilots having a negative experience while others were highly satisfied with their training.
Professionalism and Instruction
The biggest complaint is about the professionalism and instruction of some staff members, specifically Marvin. Mike N. had a negative experience dealing with Marvin and felt that the training was unprofessional and uncomfortable. On the other hand, most pilots praised the excellent instruction from professional and well-educated CFIs, including Thomas Pogany, Stacy, and others.
Training and Scheduling
Pilots appreciated the flexibility of scheduling and customization of training flights to fit their needs and schedules. Rob Johnson mentioned that scheduling his training around his work schedule was made simple, and each flight was tailored to his goals. Many pilots also appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and small size of the school.
Variability in Experience
There seems to be a disconnect between the experience of some pilots and the overall quality of the school. Mike N. had a poor experience, while most pilots had excellent experiences with their instructors and training.
