Empowering young minds through discovery and exploration

At Wood Violet Montessori, we are a small, women-owned business dedicated to providing a true Montessori experience to our young students in the Fox Valley. Our school was founded in 2018 by two early childhood educators with a combined experience of over 40 years in the child care profession. We wanted to create a space where we could offer a Montessori education to children ages 2.5 to 6 years old, and after searching for the perfect location, we found a place with a surprising amount of wildlife near the Fox River Mall. We renovated the space and curated our own Montessori Children's House to create an environment that is conducive to learning and discovery.

Our team is led by two passionate educators, Ms. Colleen and Ms. Mary, who have a deep understanding of the Montessori method and its approach to child development. Ms. Colleen has 18 years of experience in the early childhood field, while Ms. Mary has 29 years of experience in early childhood education and a Master's degree in Montessori Education. Together, they have created a nurturing and supportive environment that allows children to grow and thrive.

Our Philosophy

At Wood Violet Montessori, we believe in the importance of preparing the child's environment to ease their development. Our classroom is designed to promote independence, curiosity, and social interaction. We have a strong emphasis on practical life skills, sensory exploration, and language development. Our teachers are trained to observe and support each child's unique learning style, and our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each individual child.

Our Program

Our program is designed to foster a community of lifelong learners who are capable, confident, and caring. Our full-time program is open to children ages 2.5 to 6 years old, and we offer a 3-Hour Work Period during the morning session. Our children spend time outdoors, eat lunch with their friends and teachers, and engage in a variety of activities that promote socialization and learning.

Our part-time program is available for children who attend for five half-days, and they have access to the same Montessori materials and activities as our full-time students. We also offer a range of extracurricular activities, including music, yoga, and guest speakers, to provide a well-rounded education.

School Calendar and Events

We operate on a year-round schedule, with yearly sessions and summer breaks. Our school calendar is available for download on our website, and we also send out regular newsletters to keep our parents informed about upcoming events and activities.
