At Flowerama, we have a rich history that dates back to 1952 when our founders, Maurice and Herbert Frink, founded Frink's Green House, Inc. Their vision was to provide high-quality flowers and exceptional customer service to the community. Over the years, we have expanded our operations, introducing new concepts and innovative ideas to stay ahead of the curve. Today, we are one of the largest floral franchise organizations in the world, with over 60 freestanding centers across the country.
Our Beginnings
Our journey began when Maurice and Herbert Frink founded Frink's Green House, Inc. in 1952. They started with a small 50,000 square foot greenhouse operation in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In 1965, they expanded to a second facility in Waterloo, Iowa, providing wholesale flowers to over 250 retail outlets in Iowa and several other Midwest states.
The Flowerama Concept
In the 1967, we introduced the Flowerama Mobile Merchandiser, a portable trailer that opened up to a 24 feet by 32 feet sales and display area. This innovative concept allowed us to sell flowers and plants to customers in high-traffic areas, such as parking lots of supermarkets and shopping centers.
Expansion and Growth
As our success grew, we expanded our operations to open company-owned stores in Iowa and Minnesota in regional shopping malls. In 1972, we developed a franchise program to expand our retail floral shops further. Today, we have over 60 freestanding Flowerama centers across the country, offering our unique products and services to our customers.
